Good morning!

While half asleep this morning, I heard Audrey roaming about. When I heard Ian start to squawk, I rolled out of bed and saw this little "bouquet" Audrey left for me to wake up to. I just couldn't help but smile at the offering and at the fact that she didn't make me get up.

Preschool Field Trip

Our little preschool group went to a church member's house today and rode horses! Audrey thought this was great, and she got to brush the horse and learn a lot about them.

No, you can't have him.

I would just like to say that I have an amazing husband. I celebrated my birthday this week, and on top of gifts and cake and fun on my actual birthday, I got the day off on Saturday. Mr. B did all the work, and he did a really great job.
I started out the day going for a run outside (it was perfect weather), and after my shower I lounged on the couch with a book while Mr. B took the kids to the park. He had already cleaned up breakfast, toys and vacuumed, so I was relaxing in a clean environment.
I met a wonderful friend for lunch at one of my favorite cafes, after which I went on a successful shoe shopping spree. I arrived home, spent some more time reading on the couch (alternating some kid time--they're so stinkin' cute!), and then went out to dinner with the family. We tried Mellow Mushroom for the first time, and it was great.
I came home and read some more while Mr. B bathed the kids and put them to bed. I watched Project Runway on the computer, and then I finished my book and went to bed.
Perfect day.
Even though I did play with the kids and help out a bit, I learned that being a mom is SO much better when I'm not compelled to do anything. I really enjoyed putting Ian down for his morning nap, knowing that I didn't have to do it. And playing with the kids for awhile instead of reading my book was nice because I knew I could go back to my book whenever I wanted. Such a relaxing feeling. Thanks Mr. B!!!

Do my hair, Easter, etc.

Audrey asked for pigtails and her crown comb.
Ian likes the buttons on her shirt.
The hairstyle lasted until we got in the car and buckled.
Easter weekend: Saturday the kids woke up to mostly empty Easter baskets, but filled them quickly with eggs we had hidden around the house. Ian put the plastic eggs in his mouth and was walking around looking very silly.
"Take a picture of me! I am ALSO putting something bizarre in my mouth; I'm cute too!"
Just a moment I wanted to capture.

Video for relatives

Some Easter egg fun. And a small sample of Ian's favorite activity: throwing objects.
