Audrey's house

I found this play tent on clearance at Target, and Audrey has loved playing in it. She calls it her house. It has circular windows in the side for playing bean bag toss, but we use it for peek-a-boo, much to her giggling delight. We also roll around in the tent, making it fall on its side and top. You can also see Audrey's new habit of wearing a sock on her foot and its match on her hand. Audrey loves these flip flops, given to her by the generous Lindsey. She was strutting around the house this morning with her hands in her pockets. It's too much sometimes!

Beware: dangerous when sleeping

I woke up at 4:00 this morning and my forehead felt like it was burning, so I looked in the mirror and found this huge scratch! No idea how it happened; must have been my fingernails or wedding ring?? Or something is out to get me...

Laura's visit

This past week my sister Laura and her two daughters, Jamie (7) and Lindsey (4), came to visit us and feel the Atlanta sun. We had such a great time with them and are so grateful they made the voyage! Laura did such a great blog post about the trip you should read it too! Click here.
One day we went to Stone Mountain. This guitar player had an amazing blue grass voice and performed several songs just for us!!
We saw several demonstrations at Stone Mountains, including this blacksmith, where Audrey made music on this triangle. There was so much to see and do here, even a surprising run through the sprinklers!
One day we went to the Botanical Gardens.
Laura is a great photographer--isn't this shot artistic?Another great photo by Laura. And a happy baby!
The children's fountain at the garden was a big hit with the girls.
We spent as much time as possible at the pool, soaking up the sun.
Thursday we watched Carlie while her parents packed up their moving truck, and of course we went swimming.
Audrey is obsessed with shoes. She was delighted with the several new pairs of shoes lying around with three girls visiting, and she mastered the art of wearing flip flops and wedges. She wore these shoes around like she was born wearing them. And yes, still does downward dog.

Candid Audrey

Still loves those boxes. I found her relaxed in this box just daydreaming. She thought it was pretty funny that I found her.
Audrey's been into saying prayers lately. This afternoon she commanded me to kneel on the floor with her and say three prayers in a row. This picture is from a few days ago, in the middle of the day. She is playing bedtime, with music, story, prayer, etc.
Audrey has started to sleep just on her pillow, balled up in the corner of her crib.

Best $6.50 I ever spent

This is a CD of the Church's children's songs, and I've been playing them in the car for Audrey. She loves them, and gets really excited to hear the popcorn popping song, almost as excited as for Baby Beluga! Any time she gets fussy, I just put this CD in and she immediately gets happy!

Girls' Night Out

I went out with some friends last night for a last hurrah with my awesome friend Tracy (to my right), who moves away in two weeks. We had such a great time chatting over dessert. I haven't laughed that hard in as long as I can remember. Can't wait for the next girls' night out! I will miss Tracy and her little girl Carlie sooooo much!!
