About a week ago Audrey's toddler bed arrived. I was too impatient to wait for Mr. B to set it up on the weekend so I just did it myself. Oh the things you can do even when you're hugely pregnant!! Audrey was VERY excited about her big girl bed, but didn't fall asleep for her nap until 4:00 pm that day. I totally understood--it's a novelty! Naps since then have been okay, mostly a lot later than normal because she takes much longer to get to sleep. I took out the fun stuff and closed the door (she can't turn the doorknob yet), which helps, but this girl will play with socks. Oh well, at least she's been getting somewhat of a nap daily. One afternoon I found her asleep in the rocking chair, another time she was laid out in front of the door--I couldn't get it open. But mostly she sleeps in her bed. Nighttime, however, is fabulous. No changes in her behavior or routine. We check on her before we go to bed and she's in her bed sound asleep. I leave the door ajar so she can get out by herself in the morning, but she stays in bed until we answer her yells, just like the crib days. So I'd say the transition has been a success. Big girl bed

I'm so glad Audrey has transitioned well to her big girl bed! Yay for Audrey AND yay for her mommy! I think that's so funny that she doesn't leave her room until you come get her. How nice!
This post reminded me of one of Tracy's recent posts, which I read today. Have you heard about Carlie's glowing alarm clock? I think it's so cute, and it sure sounds effective for keeping early-bird toddlers in their room in the morning!

I'm glad the transition has been smooth! I'm kind of dreading it . . . but we'll be making the switch within a couple of weeks.

I was very surprised at how well the transition went for Theo, too. He still stays in his room during nap and bedtime (probably has something to do with the doorknob covers...)
